The Ayacucho Market

There are -thank goodness- as of yet no supermarkets in Ayacucho, and though there are many mom-and-pop shops, most people get their groceries at places like the city's venerable central market.

The central market

A side entrance

The juice sellers
Susana says their juices "put Jamba Juice to bed."

The bread aisle

Cheese seller

Grain and bean merchant

Religious candle and rock-salt shop
